The best way to dehumanize someone while claiming you’re not is to believe you are just the same. You erase their experiences and perspective, their struggles and obstacles, their unique way of having to deal with those things in a world that also erases them. With the words, ‘but humans are humans’ or the bullshit dramatics of ‘we all bleed red’ normal people can simply pretend that if we all did things the way they did, then everything would work out okay. But, yes, we all bleed red but you don’t treat a papercut the same way you treat a gash, you don’t treat an infected wound the same way you treat one that isn’t, you don’t treat a wound to the leg the same way you treat a wound to the gut. You are not acknowledging someone’s personhood when you ignore the very things that make their lives different than yours, and when you refuse to understand that their circumstances have given them their own perspective that is just as valid as yours. More valid in fact – their perspective about their experiences that you haven’t been through is far more valid than anything you could ever think about it.

There is no organization, board or coalition that regulates the safety of sexual aids in the United States, Japan, Canada and the European Union. None, zero, zilch. Why does that matter? Because, with no regulations, they CAN and DO, make it out of whatever material they want. Toxic? Who cares. Hazardous? Whatever. Cancer-Causing materials? What the consumer doesn’t know will make us more money! Keeping them made cheap? Now we’re talking sex toy production style. Regulating sex toys production would be admitting that people use them, and our government doesn’t want to do that-for goodness sakes, sex toys are illegal in 6 states! How could the government evaluate the safety of something that is illegal? Doing so would be admitting that people used them, and as a result, that the government condoned such behavior.
It’s National Masturbation Month! To celebrate, we’ll be highlighting resources on the topic every Sunday in May. Today we’re featuring our Introduction to Sex Toys page. Check it out here! (via thecsph)
Remember, if it says “Novelty Use Only” use a condom!

in 7 years its going to be the 20s again so we can bring back swing music and the aesthetics of that era but keep modern values who’s with me
pretty in pink.
When I was 10, I saw
my first episode of Law & Order, SVU
a woman screamed
and her pretty pink dress ripped
the scene cut to black but then
she sat in a station
hair mussed and mascara running
and she seemed broken
and that’s when I began to prepare
for the inevitable.
a girl walks into a classroom wearing a spaghetti strap shirt. immediately every boy within a 50 yard radius gets a raging erection. the teacher attempts to present a lesson but to no avail, no one can hear over the sound of every male student masturbating to this girl’s shoulders. why couldn’t she just wear a long sleeved shirt
Literally the American employment system.
Male privilege is oversexualizing a normal part of a woman’s body to the point where she is punished for wearing a pair of shorts at school. They are legs and they get me where I need to go. I don’t “display” them for your enjoyment, I just made a mistake by assuming that partially exposing an appropriate part of my body on an 80 degree day wouldn’t land me in detention.
THE FUCKING TRUTH BEHIND THIS HURTS.
